Trailmakers is a sandbox 3D physics-based vehicle construction simulator with open world exploration elements.
During my time working for Flashbulb Games on Trailmakers I worked as a Gameplay Programmer on 2.0, 2.1 and an unannounced update.
For Pioneers my first task was to Implement the Mega Drill boss fight. The boss has 3 different variations centered around the different modes of transportation: ground, water and air.
Soon after that I was working to get the mission system working in multiplayer by making sure server and client communication was working properly.
There are settlements which could be upgraded which repaired houses and gave you a resource generation structure. I was in charge of the repair system, resource structure and handling of cutscene support making sure it functioned properly with multiple players.
I implemented a structure resource tracker which you could press on a blueprint and have it list all of the resources you needed to craft that structure.

My most significant addition to this update was the block variation system. It allows player to get alternative versions of already existing blocks that has a new model and sounds without changing the gameplay of the block.
